looking at some of his responses to comments on his videos on youtube i think he is rude, and condecending, not unlike the JW's he defends. if he IS trying to defend the majority of the doctrine why do it from outside the org?

happy,
you seem like a very kind open minded person and hold no judgements against others which is admirarable. do you pay attention to the pictures in the literiture you read, maybe take a look at some older books and focus on the message the pictures are trying to give the reader. in fact put put any close family members and non jw friends in the place of the lawless, drug abusing, thieving, rebellious ones pictured. does that sound like a loving thing to request?
i dont mean to be harsh but those pictures are precisely the way the jw's look at ANY non witnesses and you will eventually start to lose your wonderfull optimism and fall in to the same line of thinking the books expect you to adopt. remember any who are not jw's will be killed no exceptions.
it would be ashame to lose your current thinking without fully understanding the indoctrination process you are attempting
peace to you,
EA

How do you feel about the pledge of allegiance now?
by SweetBabyCheezits infor you us citizens (and those whose nations have a similar patriotic oath), how do you feel about your children saying the pledge in school if it's customary?.
my daughter is in 3rd grade and part of her school's morning routine includes the pledge.
when we stopped attending meetings a year ago, my wife and i explained to her that we don't agree with the jw "idolatry" classification so, naturally, she started joining her class in the pledge.. fast forward to the present: my wife and i are both non-theists who want to raise ethical, caring, tolerant children, but also children who aren't afraid to stand apart, especially when that stand isn't popular.

SBC
i remember my son refused to salute the flag in 1st grade. we had coached him just like every good jw parent does he was put on the spot by his teacher and was proud to defend his beliefs. when this was related at teh hall the p.o. told his experience from the platform. i remember thinking how proud i was back then.
i would not call them HIS beliefs though and after reading most of your posts, i have had the same thoughts for awhile and imho it is more important to let my kids be kids and do what makes them comfortable always giving them the courage and confidence to make THIER OWN decision as to what and when to stand up for. this goes against the jw creed and has always bothered my wife (a born in). i understand the somewhat brainwashing effect that the pledge can seem like and i am not ready to make the decision for myself but i have other young children in school and will not pressure them to parrot indoctrinated beliefs or take a blind faith stand in a country that has a lot wrong with it ( leadership). and this is a BIG issue in my marriage right now.

hello happy,
maybe a couple of small tests of your friends loyalty would help settle some questions.
1. tell your study conductor you need a break for awhile just to see if they will respect your wishes.
2. ask if you resume your study can you use only the bible and no outside literiture.
3. actually do comprehensive research of the society from both perspectives.
if you still are convinced you have found the truth then realize your freedom to visit a website such as this will not be tolerated by the loving org you are giving your life to and will be subject to a quick removal from the religion.
anyway, welcome

Do you appreciate the sacrifices brothers made in 1927 so that we can preach on Sundays?

if something is spiritual what is it really?
by Evidently Apostate inexamples:.
spiritual paradise = not real.
spiritual shepards = says who.

Evidently Apostate
agreed satanus, this is a very scary thought for a doubting jw though and by the time they realize the simplest experiences in life are more satisfying than a thousand watchtower promises they have lost years of them.

examples:
spiritual paradise = not real
spiritual shepards = says who
spiritual food = mindless drivel
spiritual arraingement = like it or get out!
anything can be spiritual , this morning i woke up with a spiritual erection.
this fallacy of calling everything spiritual gives it untouchable status and keeps doubters from raising questions. i read a facebook chat and some jw called the overlapping generation a "spiritual" generation. wtf!
